That sounds scary. Just the thought of standind up in front of others is really scary and gives me palpatations but you can do it.. But it is probably best to tell it how it is with a couple of real storiesI How people don't believe the symptoms until the have them and had teast to check there is nothing wrong. How it can totally take over your life and the way you think and behave. Also maybe being a bit political here but my question is Why does mental health always take second place to physical health? and why are some doctors/health professionals so unsympathic and unknowledgeable re mental health

Thanks spot on

I agree with you both, why do GP's make you feel like you are wasting their time.

How exciting about being invited to talk about HA

Oh Holly

I could write a list a mile long here , but I wont

Can I say well done going & speaking up , I no we will be well represented !

I will let others make suggestions what they feel would be helpful but just wanted to say Thank You for speaking out for all the people that suffer with HA , including myself :-)

Its awful, it can really ruin someone's life :(

Also CBT etc helps but the waiting lists are like 8 weeks which can actually cause huge issues!

I think there needs to be like an NHS thing where people can go to regarding the symptoms.. the biggest issue of HA is symptoms and reassurance.. Also I think people think we are imagining the symptoms which is not the case.. the symptoms are real!

Not sure if that helps! x

Thanks for all your messages. It's about time we were heard. This is an illness, not something to be ignored or ridiculed. Thank you so much

Please can you include that we dont make up the symptoms they are very real and disturbing. Doctors need to b more educated on anxiety. Instead of saying go and live your life and it will pass. They need to realise its not as simple as that. Also need to understand that with anxiety its very hard for us to work out if something else is anxiety or another seperate issue. This is why we can be at the docs often.
