You are not alone tinyfairy... Let me Welcome you to a safe and caring site.

There are many people in this community who are agoraphobic.

I suffered myself from Agoraphobia for 5 years. Never leaving my home.

Windows covered with blankets. Didn't answer the doorbell or phone.

Five years in never putting my head out the door to get the mail.

Five years in not seeing a soul except my therapist and/or doctor and

nurses that came to my home.

The fear was over whelming but I didn't know what i feared outside my

home. Through therapy I found that the fear of something was deep inside

me and wasn't outside but a thought that was buried deep within.

With time and taking small steps, I finally broke the walls that kept me

enclosed and a prisoner in my own home.

It Can and it Will be done when the time is right and you are ready.

I am so happy you reached out for help. We are here to support you and

let you know that you know you are not alone. :) xx

Catsuit53 Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia go hand in hand

I will be writing a post about my 5 year journey with these disorders.

Meanwhile, As YouTube was always my go to in learning about my issues as well as solutions, let me recommend a video to listen to.

Dr. Tracey Marks is a Board Certified Psychiatrist. She has many

helpful videos regarding all aspects of Anxiety/Panic Disorder.

Please check out "What is Agoraphobia like - How do you get help"

I think you will find it enlightening :) xx

I am agoraphobic. I can't handle going out much at all. The only time I can sort of handle going out is to the grocery store or Walmart occasionally, but not too often. I go once or twice a month with my Mom to the grocery store but that is about all I can handle. I can't even handle going to appointments if I can help it. They usually come to the house or I have my appointments online or over the phone. I can't handle going out of the house much. Yesterday was the first time in a while I actually went for a walk with my Mom and the dog.

majones, having a support person in getting you through the steps of Agoraphobia are helpful but can also be enabling. We must choose wisely.

We need to find methods and tools that will help us help ourselves through

these necessary steps in getting free once again. :) xx
