Yes.... just keep a good relationship with your doctor and therapist to help you keep balanced as much as possible and coping mechanisms.... we all learn to live with our stuff and live life. We don't let it define how we live our lives ....it's just part of who we are. Many of us have had very full lives and carriers regardless of having anxiety and depression. We survive, try harder often, and can live and love in life.

ok, i will keep going🥰

everything seems more difficult with GAD. for me at least. it will take more effort than if you didn’t suffer from anxiety. anxiety isn’t on or off, it has degrees, you might have to let your instructors or employers know about your anxiety.

While I don't have panic attacks, I have Major Depressive Disorder with co-morbid GAD. I did a start-up for 5 years, followed by 25 years at Adobe Systems as a software architect.

I'm retired now, but I still contribute to an Open Source Software project.

Absolutely. Later on in my career I had to tell my company that I couldn't travel anymore (because the stress would trigger my GAD), but that was about it.

I'd start your day with a good workout and exercise routine. As a software engineer I'm sure you have plenty to commit to, stay focused, and take a daily course of planned action to achieve your work goals. Often, people with GAD etc over achieve and that's ok, it helps to reduce insecurities. When I say commit and focus it means you have no or less time to worry about your fearful thoughts and you become proud of your accomplishments. If you mean social anxiety, focus on exercise, diet and work for now and be yourself without straining to be liked. Also, your situation is described in your post without much specifics about when, where and how GAD effects your life, and your age. Good luck

Hi, and YES, you can be what you wanna be. Just like you tell yourself your panicking or anxious you can tell yourself that you are Not. I know it's not easy, it takes a lot of practice but positive affirmation works just like negative condescending, the are mind games we play with ourselves, but to day that fears of people places and things aren't real, but we make it real by giving energetic thought to them. Just like you reinforce your worry you can reinforce your surety that you are better. You must repeat to yourself that I am a good person, I am turning my cells on to defeat any dis ease, I am kind and compassionate, I am fair but stern. This is what standing on business means. YOU have to build your confidence no one else can do that for you,
