Uplifting Songs

90sCountryMusicfan36 profile image

Hello Everyone, After the book recommendations post and the feedback I received from you guys, I decided to do a music post also. During times that I just can not seem to full myself out of a rut I turn to music. I mostly listen to Meditation music, Subliminal messages, Chakra opening and things of that nature. However, there are times when I want to hear actual words. In those cases, I refer to songs like Don't laugh at me by Mark wills, Tin Man Kenny Chesney, All kinds of Kinds Miranda Lambert, Terri Clark No Fear and Tim Mcgraw's Angry all the Time, The Cowboy in Me, and Better than I used to be......For those of you who use music as an escape......What songs do you prefer???

This actually sounds great🥰

Really? 😜 I'm glad you liked it... you do sound surprised.

It always does it for me, but most folks give me the fish eye when I call this "uplifting."🐟

Oooh Patsy, I'm familiar with her! I like a few songs from that era or I think these are considered older country songs......You know the one from the Judds that says, Grandpa, tell me bout the good Ole days???? I love that song especially like the humming part.......Conway Twitty, Dwight Yoakam had 1 song I like I can't think of the name doe nothing right now though. George Jones has one I play the words off it's called these days I barely get by.....but I'm more of a Travis Tritt, Neal Mcoy, George straight can sing the alphabets to me, Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Jeff bates (my mississippi) Kenny chesney Tim McGraw, oooh Keith Whitley has a couple I love (somebody's doing me right and Miami My amy....or the other way around....I always get them mixed up.....

"George Straight can sing the alphabets to me." 😆

I'd love if you posted a favorite. I don't know much "modern" country music. Hank was back in the good old days. (Me too.)

Good morning and thank you for the gorgeous recommendations - music is indeed a powerful remedy 🙂 I rarely go for long without listening to Freddie Mercury - his voice is medicine for sure. Also, not usually my everyday cup of tea but Liam Gallagher’s Too Good For Giving Up has saved me several times x wishing you a peaceful day to a good soundtrack 😊

Good morning......is that the guy from the show Shameless or someone else. My oldest daughter loves Queen, so I'm familiar with a few of their songs. ....Wishing you a peaceful day also🥰

My mood very much dictates my music selections. Some days I'm old school country: Patsy Cline, George, Dollie, Loretta, Bocephus, Waylon, Willie, Cash. Classic Rock: Queen, ACDC, Guns N Roses. Alternative Heavy Metal: Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Falling from Grace.70s, 80s music even older Rap.

For sum reason I could not make myself like Johnny Cash. He wasn't a good singer to me. That one song he had with June is the only thing close to being okay to me. It was something about keeping on the sunny side! The rest of the listen is foreign to me except Queen but I know me. If I heard something from those guys I could probably vibe to it

I'll listen to almost anything, but I must admit my fave is 60's music, and Country is also a great fave, but I like many more, even some rap! Not bad for an old bird! 👍

Cheers, Midori

Not country, but I love "My Lady Sleeps" by the Mediaeval Baebes and "Safe and Sound" by the Civil Wars and Taylor Swift. "Seal Lullaby." Debussy. Certain classical pieces.

I like a variety of music. Paul McCartney is one of my favorites and he has some pretty good songs. That would go without saying that I also like the Beatles. The Monkees are pretty good too (Nez being my fav). I like a lot of older music, including soul music. I like some that are not as old too, including ones that have the older style but are fairly recent. Some music that I was listening to two months ago while dealing with something were a variety from McCartney, The Monkees, DJo, Pretty Abyss, Come And Get It by Badfinger, Death Bed & Death Bed Pt. 2 by Powfu, and The Scientist by Coldplay. If you're looking for music without singing, Lukrembo has some good ones and Do You Remember Me by Lee. Also, I know that this is probably going to sound silly, but some of the music from Minecraft is pretty good. One of my favorites is Calm/Sweden. Blind Spots and Biome Fest, and Taswell are are also some of my favorites. I listen to a lot of music especially while I work. I could go on for hours listing music that I listen to. I like listening to songs that set the tone for scenes that I write. Also, music was pretty much my thing when growing up, a way to escape the some of the stress. Sometimes late at night, I would listen to Call Me by Chris Montez.
