Do you think the " system" is letting people down???

Well maybe this is a difficult conversation to approach and why are benefits so difficult to claim. It's a long protracted and often a minefield to receive health benefits, and often it can make your symptoms feel worse, the box

" ticking " exercise or writing statements that fit the bill are often not the true picture ,and now the threats are looming towards making the process even more difficult or moving the goalposts towards " claiming " benefits an imposed task.

The government is now following plans made by the tories, and it's nothing to do with people's health but a pathway to " saving" money, people's health conditions especially long term won't improve, no matter the so called interventions, and perhaps if government's hadn't wasted billions of pounds on various dodgy practices the money wouldn't be an issue, and now there's talk about PA' S (person assistants) who will talk or give advice about your health conditions, but in the meantime you have various companies from abroad deciding your fate, who have received millions of pounds denying your claim, all done hand in hand via the DWP.

Work coaches and threats of various sanctions are a blight on people's health are impacting people, and now there's a new incentive to gather more people into a perilous situation, the government is intending to give powers to local councils who are going to " help " people with various problems, COUNCILS ha 🤣 yes my sarcasm, they can't even run the services properly now, let alone this new idea being implemented, and going " online " will be the usual practice, this is getting more and more like the " little Britain " sketch where the computer says no, dear lord where are we going when a computer says NO in front of it that the person they can't see is unable to

" function " in society ,and hey your looking for a job, and struggling to get out of bed, depressed because you used to be fit and agile and can't wipe your own bum properly, or you've been up all night with sleep problems , yes and guess what's brought your health problems besides illnesses, working to hard in your younger days, a computer can't feel your problems, or make you better, time to unplug the computer and start talking with a person who understands your daily routine, and treat you as an individual and forget the box ticking and point system, deal with you as a person not a computer!!!

I think making benefit claims so difficult to get is done for a reason, and the reason is hoping you will give up on trying.😡

Yes, I know people who a feigning health conditions, and the genuine people are caught up in this trap, tarring people with the same brush, many health conditions are from various conditions and even taking medication can affect your daily routine, we are all different and our health conditions affect us in many ways, I never thought I'd need an afternoon " nap" and it's because of pain denies me quality sleep, and certain other tasks which I used to take for granted; boy I don't enjoy older life, talk about getting their pound of flesh from people has a new meaning, they'll either starve you to death or freeze you from hypothermia !

Yes it is isn't it. I think so many are out of work is because they are stuck on long NHS waiting lists. Until these are sorted out I don't see the sense in targeting the sick.

I am disappointed so far by Labour as they just seem to be another form of toryism. They seem to have the same views that most people on the sick are scamming and are happy to hit the genuine too.

I know we have huge debts but surely we deserve better than this?

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time and I hope things work out for you.

Yes, I've served in the armed forces, a small pension is a relief and I used to look back at the days when i when I had speed of a race horse, strength of a cart horse, and brains of a rocking horse 🤣I've had an interesting life, done all sorts of jobs, bar work, head " fryer " in a chippy, even a smallholding, and then the building trade, and that's the one that's worn me out, working outdoors in all weather, even working with ulcerative collitus to put food on the table, I'm now the horse you can lead to water but won't drink it, that's my analogy of life, not quite flogged to death, but ready for the knackers yard, going to the vet's next week (hospital 🤣) I think I need box rest, and hoping my results come back positively, hopefully back onto the green pastures for a few years more 🫡😉

Yes I empathise. I way always pretty fit in my younger days. I worked all day and went out socialising a lot too. If I wanted to go somewhere I just got up and went without worrying about health issues or lack of mobility. I could do whatever I wanted.

But in my early 60's I was struggling, not just with depression which was hard enough but got some physical issues too. I had to live on just a small private pension for years.

Thankfully at 65 and a half I finally qualified for my state pension thank goodness. The years of struggling to find and stay in work was over and now I can just chill out. It is marvellous.

I feel for younger people with the retirement age gradually creeping out of sight and would hate to be subject to DWP bullying and endless bureacracy again. Shudder....

American health care system is equally bad and about to get worse with the new incoming administration. Hugs and peace to you🪷
