This maybe a contentious subject and obviously they'll be various comments perhaps, this is all about the loss of the winter fuel payment towards pensioners. Its a broad ranging subject and obviously perhaps political, I'm sure everyone is feeling the pinch and understanding the broader picture can see ifand how this affects you.

Personally I disagree that pensioners lost their payment, and until politicians live in the shoes of those less off this problem, and many others will continue, politicians don't live in our world and there's numerous other issues that are affecting this situation.

Obviously we're are hearing about this so called black hole and the public are getting a rough deal, perhaps if the monies wasted and those who have siphoned off billions of pounds and getting away scot free shouldbe takenintohabd and start dishing out jail sentences, and obviously the war is a financial burden, but we're paying the highest costs for our utility companies, perhaps there's a reason why these companies and thier board members are letting them get away with, along with ofgem

yes even ex DWP Amber Rudd has got her feet under the table at British gas, and perhaps the government and these companies are akin to the parasite and host , it's never ending this attack on the public and paying even more for less and less throughout society , the economy is on its knees and so are the public, stay safe and try and keep warm, who would've thought people can't afford the heating on and staying alive with an electric blanket, this isn't living its an existence and people's mental and physical health is at it highest!

I am appalled with the absolute cruelty of this tawdry government. We are all going to be taxed to oblivion. Soon there will be no independent businesses when all wealth builders move abroad and everyone will be dependent on the state. Its the communist way.🥵

Yes , the powers now in the pipeline are giving the state access to anyone receiving a state benefit, and that will include landlords who receive housing benefit, we are heading into total state monitoring and big brother scenario. Our privacy is eroded on a monthly basis, and the increase on people receiving universal coffin😏

( credit)will have no privacy, its all being designed to live from the state and food banks, the state will control everything, and we are heading into oblivion and everyone is getting dragged down, its crazy how people are relying on a state benefit because companies are quite happy to let people live on minimum wage, set by the government, the parasite and host are well and truly alive, and shareholders are skimming billions out the system, there's trillions of pounds hidden off shore, while the various government continues to drain peoples money away.

There's major problems coming down the road, especially those who are the poorest bringing children up on processed food, children will have numerous health problems, and even the

" free " school meals, many are poor quality and yet the companies that are used for this option are another failure and taking the nutrition out of children diet , and I reckon we'll have another recession during this period of parliament, it doesn't make good reading , amongst other problems 🙄

I don't disagree with you CB but will point out that those pensioners on pension credits or other means tested benefits still get their WFA so to some extent the poorest are protected.

I am a pensioner who won't get my WFA, but much worse thanks to the previous governments frozen tax thresholds and a very small private pension I like many have been dragged back into the income tax net again and had to pay £445 last year - more than twice the WFA.

Also too the state pension and any other income used to be treated separately for tax purposes so you could build up to the tax levels separately on each.

Well the last government added them together to screw more tax out of us especially working pensioners.

To add to this they also achieved record NHS waiting lists, and managed to get rid of most NHS dentists. I wonder how many pensioners and others died on the waiting lists or on a trolley in a corridor? Or had to use their savings to pay for private treatment and private dentists?

Another thing they did was make swinging cuts to all our public services including the social care budget. As a consequence some things which used to be free are now charged for.

Labour are publicly working to get the waiting lists down. In the budget they are ending the frozen tax thresholds a year earlier. They just inherited this huge mess but so many seem to be blaming them instead.

They inherited also levels of debt not seen since WW2 so I get their hands are largely tied until they can get our finances into a healthier state. Apart from the WFA they are mainly targeting other areas and the better off.

Historically under tories the gap between the have and have nots always widens considerably and is now at its highest level for many years.

Under a Labour government this gap always lessens again.

Its unrealistic to expect Labour to have sorted out 14 years of mess in just a few months in office too, though many seem to expect this? Its completely irrational.

One last point - haven't you noticed how Labour, unlike the tories, do not blame every other institution for their own failures? Apart from the tories of course which is quite understandable.

They own their actions and I much prefer this honesty over the sneaky underhanded tactics of the tories who pretend we are ALL better off and so many choose to blindly believe them.

I do think though that withdrawing the WFA (which Labour introduced) is a big mistake made by a rookie government. Apart from anything else it just provides a big stick for others to bash them on.
