hello, new to the group so I apologize if this has been discussed before. Anyone have any experience with mental health outpatient programs. Either in person or online? I suffer from depression and anxiety which has really been affecting me daily. severe sadness. Seems like once a week therapy and medications may not be enough to address things. Especially severe over the last few weeks. I see there are daily or a couple days a week programs for depression etc. some offered online. How does one qualify for these programs? How long do they usually last? Have no idea if it is something to look into.

Mental Health IOP programs
I’ve been looking into this myself. Do you have a therapist or psychiatrist who can refer you and/or say it’s clinically necessary?

Are you from the USA? I did attend a program. Just want to be sure we are in the same place

yes, thank you.
I had a major depressive episode after a sister died. I was doing poorly and I was sent to an IOP.
I was there for three weeks full time. Then three days a week, then 2 half days and then done.
I was sent by a social worker from my place of employment.
If your therapist agrees you need more help and she can't increase your visits can she call one of these places and ask about availability for you?
I think it's great that you are aware you need more help and that you are reaching out.
I would call the therapist today and see if she/he can get working on this for you
I tried an IOP very briefly following a hospitalization a while back. It was actually at the hospital where I had been. Unfortunately it was before I got my hearing aid and I couldn't hear well enough to get anything out of it. I ended up just continuing with my therapist. (Are you from Philly?? That's where I'm from)
