Are body movements that noticeable?

I'm always overthinking this and obsessing over my body movements. I think that since I move my head with fast movements than that means people will notice and then they will say something about it. If I'm jerking my head to people's body movements, will people notice? do people put that much effort into looking at my body movements or is the attention close to none?

Eric, maybe children would notice more than adults. Or at least say something that

an adult wouldn't. Like "Mommy why does that person have this or that?" Children

are innocent to what they see, They're curious and want only to learn not to ridicule

or hurt someone's feelings. So we have to take that into consideration.

Next time you are out, take a look around. You are not alone. People with walkers,

a cane, a wheelchair, some even with a therapy animal. Do you stare or ask them

why?? I wouldn't think so. We respect the fact that everyone has something that they

deal with that they can't control.

I don't think yours is as noticeable as others. More so only to you. :) xx

There are different thoughts on this one, as some will notice, but not mention in case you have Tourette's Syndrome or something similar for fear of embarrassing you; Others may not notice at all.

Some folk are very intuitive, others dumb as rocks. Children are very intuitive, and are most likely to mention anything they perceive a 'strange'. Try not to worry so much, be You. It's nobody else's business.

So, there are definitely people out there, that can tell by my body movements that I'm paranoid and paying them attention? Do you think these people would be on the lookout as well for people if they can spot subtle details?

Hi Eric,

There are folk trained to do it, and those who can tell instinctively, But as I said, the majority wouldn't know even if you wrapped it in a house brick and hit them on the head with it, hence my comment about dumb as rocks. 😉

In my experience 99% of folk wouldn't notice, and really, do you care so much about 1% of the people? The 99% are so wrapped up in their own worries and concerns that they don't have time to pay attention to others.

Maybe a few folk who know you well might say you are a 'fidgety' person, but most just won't notice, they are too busy thinking about crossing the road, what they are going to cook for dinner, has the cat torn up the curtains again, has the dog dug up my prize dahlias again? and so on, that they really don't have room in their heads to notice the people around them. The 1% are usually therapists, Psychiatrists, and very small children.

I know it's an overwhelming fear, but try not to let it control you. It may be worth seeing a therapist to help you cope.

Hope this helps, As I said, it's nobody else's business but yours. For instance, I talk to myself; I also cuss up a storm if I do something daft! it's a bit embarrassing sometimes, but my friends are used to it, they don't care, so I don't either!

Cheers, Midori
