I had a major burnout in 2021. Long story short it came after being bullied at work for nearly a decade, and my poor work/life balance. I returned to work after a 10 week absence and I’ve battled back. My mental health before this burnout was fine but I now take mirtazapine every day to function.
I got the the year off work (a fully paid sabbatical) but I’m due back in December. What kind of strategies can I put in place to make work doable? I’ve got a unique opportunity to reintegrate and I want to make the most of it.

Hi Ben,I have been there, off work due to workplace bullying and harassment 😔
I had a Staying At Work plan based on the one developed by Australia's Beyondble organisation.
In the end, I had to take time off.
I can recommend a book called "Working in the Dark" by Dawn Fitter which talks about working with mental health and requesting reasonable accomodations to support you.
I take Mirtazapine but switched to night time use to make use of sedating effects and to reduce effect during the day.
I hope your journey back into the work is a success 🐈⬛ in Oz
I think JAN (job accommodation network) is a really helpful site- it gives examples of accommodations for employee’s w/ disabilities and provides a lot of just valuable info about how to successfully navigate places of employment with a disability.
