Hives all over

I keep getting itchy hives all over my body, off and on. I'm not sure what I'm even reacting to. But I'm miserable. I'm not sure if I should just continue trying to push through, or going to the ER for something 😕

I would go ER to get medication or advise

Could be an allergic reaction. When I was younger the summer would dump out pollen and I'd get hives everywhere. I would go to the ER. Especially if you're having breathing trouble.

I agree you should see your doctor. It could be many things including anxiety. I get rashes every summer from heat and fabric. I have trouble with my own perspiration! I use an over the counter cortisone cream when necessary and try to wear cotton as much as I can.

I’m definitely jumping on the “see a doctor” train- but I’d also suggest checking on any bath/body products you use. I have this happen off and on seasonally, but I’ve also found that some shampoos and conditioners really make my skin react. Just having them run over your skin when you rinse your hair can do it, and it’s something I didn’t consider for a while because it’s not like you apply them directly to your skin.

Are you her doctor? Sorry, but you don't know what is going on with her body.

Thx, nobody should be making a diagnosis on here. We can say what we think it may be or what has happened to us but we are not here to give medical advice.

Correct

Definitely go to your doctor or urgent care, or if bad enough the ER. Maybe it's something you ate or a new skin care product. Anxiety can also cause hives but I don't know you so I can't make that assumption, but it could be a possibility. A friend got really bad hives right before finals when we were in college.

There has been a recent outbreak of measles in the US and Canada. I would definitely get yourself checked out. Measles cause an abundance of red spots (that are very itchy) and may be mistaken for hives. Some of the other symptoms are fever, cough, runny nose, and watery eyes. If you decide to get checked out… maybe calling the hospital or doctor’s office first to find out the safest way for you to see a doctor without spreading anything to anyone else.

Personally, If I was experiencing what you’ve described… I would try to nip it in the bud and get medical care.

Thanks for all your responses. Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been using this new hand soap and I'm pretty sure that's the cause

Going to the ER tonight. Cool showers have seemed to help for time being. And hydrocortisone cream did for a short time but they keep coming back

Apart from causing me peripheral neuropathy, the Pfizer has caused many of us to have skin issues, including myself, itching shingles type rash on the face twice and the worst was polymorphis light syndrome all over my arms and legs. Face has recently blown up again. Lived in Australia for 15 years, no problems ever. GP has said one a day antihistimines four times a day. I hope you get some answers, it's miserable.

reported.

Ashleybakerr01 I get bad hives too when I get sick. It’s actually happening to me now. The immune system fights the illness with histamine and i get a reaction from it. My doctors have told me to take Claritin or Zyrtec morning and night (switch from one to the other each day/night) and Benadryl as needed until the hives are gone.
