Free/Lo Cost Health Care & More

Hello Everyone

In response to a couple of people on here that were struggling to find affordable mental healthcare . I’ve taken upon myself to look into three different cities and their scenarios, which are Chicago ,Miami , and Dallas.

What I’m finding is it depends on the city ,state and county that you are in. For example, the state of Texas struggles with supplying low or no cost care for a couple reasons . One being that local healthcare facilities are overwhelmed, and also there is a serious lack of providers. Chicago and Miami seem to have much more opportunities for no cost help , than Dallas.

I started by calling NAMI(National Alliance on Mental Illness), One of the foremost resources and advocates for all of us in this country that has some form of a mental illness. Also googling gave me resources also.

I gave that information to the two individuals and I’m hoping they will try to acquire that help and get back to me on their results.

I know when I was totally overrun with my symptoms, which now I have 90-95% relief from, it was very difficult for me to process information , let alone think.

I’m offering help anyone that needs their hand held or for me to do the research or even walk them through the process of applying to different organizations that may be able to help them with getting the proper psychiatry and therapy that they require.

I’m retired. I have the time. I can process information again. YAHOO! I know how awful it was for me and especially when reaching out to my support group and them being nowhere near what I needed for proper help.I’m a firm believer that we all need to help each other, especially those of us that have extra challenges in this world.

Lastly ,I’m slowly, but surely compiling info on all areas of mental health.

Diagnosis

Process/Solutions

Resources

Different ways to get help when in crisis

Support groups

and more

I’m early in the info gathering process but it’s moving along. There is so much info and different ways to go. As I said , I struggled a lot and could have used more help figuring things out.

Their will be no diagnosis, medication recommendations or other areas that require a professionals assistance.

This information being compiled will be used as a way to help guide someone. hopefully to the proper help we need

Much love,

Craig
