Have you guys read this book?

I’m reading this book entitled “The end of mental illness“ by Daniel G . Amen MD, and I’ve found it very helpful, both in understanding how mental illness develop, and the ways in which this doctor has cured his patients from it. I‘m seriously thinking on trying some of his approaches and see if they help me deal with depression and anxiety. As it turns out the root of all mental illnesses is not so much mental as it is physical! I thought of sharing it with you guys in case someone is interested in knowing more about your own condition. For all Christians out there, begin the day with prayer, laying down all of your needs in God’s hands, for He cares for you. We need help from above. Best of luck to everyone!

Thank you Lovely2024 for the recommendation of Dr. Amen's book.

I will take a look at his reading. We can never learn enough through

the eyes of other respected doctors/therapists. :) xx

You are very welcome! I hope you find it helpful. There’s hope out there for us,we just need to find it. Hang in there! Remember that life is a succession of good times, bad times, good times, bad times, good times, and so on. You might just be on the verge of the good times period right now. We all need to learn how to let go of things we cannot change and go ahead and change the ones we can. Reach out any time you need to talk. We are here to encourage and support one another.

When Iv found emotions piling up or issues blowing out of perspective I write it down, if it's about another's actions whatever, I write a letter just let it pour out to explain how you feel, why what when, Then, which most sound a bit odd to some, I then say angel Michael please cut these chords and take this emotion away - I sit quietly without fail. It may take a few minutes,, I seem to do a sigh then a carry on will make myself a brew without doubt. I notice that I just don't feel bad about it anymore. I hope it helps just one person and of course I go back and shred the writing burn it whatever

it's being overwhelmed in my mind, and understandable in the times we live

The writing helps certain issues for sure, I used to just say 'I give it to god' when I wasn't able to deal with something and it worked at the time and I was never really religious. I just wanted to Shelve it somewhere.! Some people would say I'll put it in the shoebox on the top shelf 😊 I'm sure the writing down and giving it to Angela Michael works for anything because you're getting it out of you. I always feel very calm after it. it's just not a problem anymore so it's worth a try otherwise you just stew in the mood. Another thing I used to do before I found this effect To kind of talk to this Demon that was making me feel so bad and say make it worse then.! Kind of get angry with it and I always found it got a lot less Because after all it has nowhere else to go and it's just a thought :-)

This may seem gobbledygook, but I hope it helps one person at least

is

Our emotions come from our thoughts

I found this helpful to know

Change the thought and then you have by got the emotion linked to it

going back 20 years, I had terrible anxiety and irrational fear, I found a group called freedom from fair group, it's still there founded by a wonderful guy from New Zealand who had dreadful panic attacks and he formed the site based on Dr Claire Weeks book. Really worth a look at if you suffer from irrational fear

I’m glad you’re able to manage your anxiety better now. Writing my thoughts works for me too. I’m curios about the site you mentioned. I’ll look it up to see if I can get more things to help get my anxiety under control. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry about that! You might be able to get it online, just type the name of the book followed by “free pdf”. If it’s available you might be able to download it into your phone or computer. Also there’s a site called “archive.org” that has many books you can read online, you might want to look if they have it there. Good luck on your search!
