It would vary from state to state in the US. Federally I doubt there is much available without Medicare or Medi-CAL benefits. Possibly check with local county or state resources online. been attempting to help another also and have found in these early stages there are potential for no or lo cost help. Since there is such a need and I’m retired and have the time. Next week I’ll make some calls and see what I can possibly come up with and post what I learn
it truly amazes me that the United States does not provide free or at least subsidised mental health care. It’s appalling. Where I live it’s free - from the inpatient to the psychologist to the psychiatrist, and every specialist in between. You have the option of going private, but when it comes to mental health the public sector is better. I feel so sorry for those who have to pay to ‘fix’ something that wasn’t their fault to begin with.
