Ideas for help

Hey Gang

We have a member who is between jobs and needs to see a proper physcratrist and hopefully a therapist.

Basically there is no budget for it.

Any and all ideas of where one can possibly go to acheive said goal would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Craig

It would vary from state to state in the US. Federally I doubt there is much available without Medicare or Medi-CAL benefits. Possibly check with local county or state resources online. Departments of Health and Human Services to start. NAMI might provide some suggestions. Hopefully someone has more suggestions for you. Nice of you to help this person. 👍

We have so many members in that same spot. I wish we had answers to this. With not insurance it's very hard to get help... if near impossible.

If they are in the USA and are eligible for disability that might work however they need a large paper trail to even begin there.

I wish I could help more

Hey Dolphin

Thanks you for your response.

been attempting to help another also and have found in these early stages there are potential for no or lo cost help. Since there is such a need and I’m retired and have the time. Next week I’ll make some calls and see what I can possibly come up with and post what I learn

it truly amazes me that the United States does not provide free or at least subsidised mental health care. It’s appalling. Where I live it’s free - from the inpatient to the psychologist to the psychiatrist, and every specialist in between. You have the option of going private, but when it comes to mental health the public sector is better. I feel so sorry for those who have to pay to ‘fix’ something that wasn’t their fault to begin with.
