Hi there, I'm new here and am struggling with a bout of depression after having felt pretty ok this summer. I have major depression and anxiety and have had real problems with feeling motivated to help myself. Well thanks for letting me get that out.

hi baby steps and build up more each few days.motivation can come from small tasks and always give yourself credit.

Same! My depression has resurfaced and I’m working w my psychiatrist on med adjustments. Feeling pretty hopeless. Everything looks gray.

I love what previous poster suggested: baby steps! And encouraging myself is really helpful. “You’re doing a really great job” is a go-to of mine. Welcome! I’m hoping we both find extra support here :)

hi ludc. you are not alone. many people are experiencing depression and anxiety. What have you done so far to cope with it? have you talked to a trusted friend/family member or a trained professional?

Hi! Thanks! I'm really looking for ways for motivation for myself and practices to keep me going? I journal but want to know if there is something else that others use.

I do feel like I'm burdening family and friends lately. So ideas are welcome! Thank you for sending me your response!

yes there are so many more ways that are natural. not herbal or anything like that. simple everyday things. journal is a good way. but try stepping outside for fresh air and sunshine. try listening to soothing music of your choice. heavy metal, rap or similar music is not a good choice at this point. finding a musical instrument to use as a means of releasing stress, art of any form, dancing, and so much more... there are even certain foods that help.
