A knot in my stomach

I'm 76 and for the past 3-4 years I have experienced increasing depression and severe anxiety which cause my stomach to cramp. I've taken medications which have not helped. I have no understanding of why I am like this. I hate getting up in the morning. I won't lie, I tried suicide 3 years ago and ended up in a psych unit where I sat for a week doing literally nothing all day. My wife is also very depressed and anxious. I keep telling myself there is nothing to be afraid of which is true. Why am I suddenly--in my life--so worried. I guess better to ask you all what can I do without paying for a psych doctor (who just gives me pills) to, at least, lessen to pain

I did 6-treatments of ketamine infusions. They really helped me out. I had a better outlook on what is going on in my life right now. Long walks and working out helps me also. I’ve lost weight when I stopped eating anything out of a box or bag, and limited restaurant food. Wish you good luck.

I would say that a psychiatrist for meds and a therapist for talking are what's needed. There are meds that help but nothing is a cure as far as I know. Do you get out of the house much? Maybe join a senior center for activities or lunches. We all need each other to get through this life. This group is a great place too. The people are very understanding and helpful.
