Did antidepressants help??

im suffering with anexiety and depression , im starting again zoloft …can we share our experience with antidepressants???

Hi Kyrelos. I think it is a given that there will be side effects with any/all antidepressants. That being said I think there are certainly situations where the benefits outweigh the side effects.

For me prozac made me feel rather drowsy and there were sexual side effects BUT the anxiety was lessened. It was worth it for several years.

Venlafaxine (effexor) did not leave me feeling drowzy, there were some sexual side effects. I have recently gone off because I felt that I had made some serious progress in therapy in changing the way I think. I recently have had a few depressed days though so I may go back on. I was on it for a couple of years.

How was your first experience on Zoloft? There are those genetic test things now to see if some antidepressants might be better for you. That could be interesting

My experience has been up and down, but I've never taken Zoloft. Currently on Wellbutrin.

I've been on Zoloft for about 6 weeks and it helped me. I still have terrible anxiety but it took some of the edge off. I don't to the point of loosing control most of the time, sometimes alcohol makes things worse.
