hi, I’m new to the group. I have anxiety and depression and it’s been getting worse. I believe my main problem is I keep comparing myself to others. It’s like my brain won’t let me move on from it.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.I can relate to the reoccurring thoughts of comparing myself and my life to others. It's kind of like self-torture!

I learned that I can stop these thoughts. It's hard to do at first but in my experience it's gotten easier.

The first step for me was realizing that it's happening. Then to take a step back and say "these are obsessive thoughts" or something like that.

Then I tried to replace the obsessive thoughts with other thoughts like "I choose to be in the present" or "I choose to believe in myself" . Really whatever positive message you choose.

Let me know if I can be of any help. This can be overcome!💚💚💚

Hi Scarletts_mom and Welcome... Once we get into that pattern of thinking that the

"grass is always greener" with others, we fall into a trap of wishing our life were

different. Believe me, we all have our problems, it's just that some people handle it

differently than we do. But they are there, after all we all our human and nobody

escapes issues in their lives.

Therapy can help in working on a more positive approach to YOUR life and not others.

Look and be grateful for all you have around you. Something that others may not have.

Make a list if necessary to see in writing the things that you are blessed with daily.

Neighbor A and Neighbor B have their own list.

The answer isn't in a pill but in believing in ourselves. I'm happy you are here

with us. :) xx

You're not alone and that's why this group exists. The people here are very supportive and have good tips and ideas to help. I hope you can find some comfort here.

Ppl could be better than you in some aspects but it doesn't mean u r not good enough. U might not be able to see it, but there are people around u can see it and appreciate you. Just like that there could be people who would be feeling bad thinking u r better than them 😂.

i recently went through something when even though i work hard i didnt get results for it but those who did nothing did better than me. This was honestly devastating. I considered my incapable of doing it. But this community taught helped me believe in myself.I hope u find answers to your problems as well
