I had a pretty bad anxiety attack. My teenage son had some stomach issues, and my head always goes to a worst-case scenario. We went to the doctor for him, who eased my concerns. However, I still had a bad anxiety attack. I try so that my family does not see it. In the morning, I woke up and went to the bathroom to avoid anyone from hearing me when I was nauseous and vomiting. As I start to improve, I develop a bad headache and some body aches. I can't take anything for the headache because I'm afraid that I will throw up from it. Any suggestions? This is pretty debilitating.

As trite and obvious as it may sound, hydrate, Water, gatoraide, something. Even if it is just a few sips here and there. It may not "fix" the problem right away, but it can help prevent it from becoming worse.
Are you in therapy working on your anxiety Maxie? It shows how much you care for your son that you are so worried, but obviously when we get to the physical side effects we have gone overboard. I think your best bet is to work on this until you can avoid the attacks. Also, I don't know if antiemetics can be used in this case, but may be worth trying. Perhaps alka seltzer would be something to try since it dissolves it water and may not be too bad if it comes back up 😬. I wish you peace, hope, and strength.☮️
I hope that you are able to have self-compassion for yourself as well and take it easy as you recover.
Thank you for your response. I am currently not in therapy, just taking 5mg lexapro. I haven't had such a panic attack for a while. I haven't seen a professional for many years. I need to go back to therapy. The person I went to doubled in price and does not take insurance.I hope to find someone else and try to work on myself. I appreciate your compassion.
Hope you are able to return to therapy in some capacity to get the help and support you may need. Maybe they can do a sliding scale payment for you or find someone that does take your insurance. Hope things work out for you!!
Yes, I agree with bethelbee, there are a lot of options, but it does take some dedication and bouncing around.
I know that many people recommend Claire Weeks and her book about helping the nerves, I love Dr Burns book Feeling Great, and also the Feeling Good podcast. I feel like I needed help to get to a certain point and now I think that I may be able to work on myself with what I have learned and books. I am thinking I might do a monthly therapy appointment or something.
