anyone have any anti weight gaining tips for mirtaz? I’m not 💯 certain if it is in direct correlation with that but I’ve put on a bit of weight.
Hope all is well, holler if you need me.

I got off of it for that very reason
Hi Dadoffour...at least you know the medication is working .
It's always 6 of one, a half a dozen of the other. SSRIs tend to work
on the pleasure sensor of the brain making us feel an inner peace and
calm even if we don't realize it. And so what do we do?? We tend to
get into a pattern of treating ourselves, food being the prize.
Sometimes it's w/o even thinking. I would literally grab for that extra
chocolate bar late at night and a couple times in the middle of the night.
Almost like a sleep walking episode except I was wide awake.
Changing the way we eat as well as when we eat can have a drastic
change in our weight even when on medication.
What we put in our mouth does show up on the scale. As they say, watch
the carbs, eat within moderation and talk with your doctor who may monitor
your weight issues. My best to you. xx
yes I kind of recognized that I can eat great all day until after the kiddos are to bed and everything is done for the night! I’m going to continue to work at it because it really has seemed the mirtaz has been working the best.
What I have heard to be very effective is intermittent fasting. You simply eat within an 8-hour window and fast for the remainder of a 24-hr day (Don't eat for16 hrs). It really works and you can eat normally (within reason--not 25 scoops of ice cream--ha ha!). Good luck!
Increase in appetite is a typical side effect of Mirtazapine. Weight gain is because you're eating more! You can try taking some special protein biscuits, in between major meals. This will reduce your hunger pangs and help you to eat less.
