Anyone gone through the treatment for H Pylori bacteria?

Hi, anyone here who has or had H Pylori bacteria? I am currently taking antibiotics for treatment, and at the same time dealing with depression and anxiety. I realize that each individual reacts differently to medications but wanted to ask if anyone here was successful with their treatment even if dealing with a lot of anxiety. The treatment consists of taking 4 pills with each meal 3 times a day, which is a lot. That itself freaked me out. Today was my first day of treatment, still have 13 days to go which feels like forever. I just wanted to see if anyone has been through this who can share with me their experiences and helps me cope through this.

I haven't gone through treatment for H pylori but I have for SIBO and the thing that helps is to know that the brain and gut are directly connected so if your gut is having issues like H pylori it can trigger anxiety. Knowing what is going on can help reduce your fear/anxiety about it. By continuing with your treatment and i'm assuming you are on a special diet, it should reduce your anxiety and help get your gut back in balance.

Thank you for responding, what is SIBO? That’s the thing, even when I know what’s going, I can’t seem to relax, I fear the worst case scenario, I even wonder if it’s time to get medication to help me ease the anxiety.

SIBO is small bacteria overgrowth in the small intestine which can cause bloating and digestion problems and is a lot of times caused by h pylori. People with SIBO are usually put on a restrictive diet. And yes, medication can be helpful at least temporarily for anxiety, Klonopin was the one that helped me the most.

Thank you for explaining, praying that my current condition doesn’t cause SIBO for me. Yes, I just want it at least to get through my treatment. I been having trouble sleeping, I feel that getting some rest can definitely help me ease some of the anxiety.

You're welcome. Sleep can definitely help with anxiety and also your healing, i've also found that practicing loving kindness to myself while i'm going through a healing treatment like you are helps as well as allowing myself to be anxious and having some fear about it.

Do you take any medication for anxiety and to help you sleep? I think I may need it, but I’m not sure.

I don't take medication for anxiety although I do take an antidepressant. I took Klonopin when I had anxiety issues which helped and I occasionally take Ambien for sleep, i've also found using Valerian Root tincture without alcohol and putting it under my tongue to be helpful. You might also try CBD if it's legal in your state. The other thing that helped me was learning that anxiety is just our mind's way of telling us to pay attention and fix or change or process emotions, etc... and the more we fight it, deny it or struggle with it, the more it persists. You might check out the youtube videos of Paige Pradko and also the DARE Anxiety program which helped me, learning what it is and how best to deal with it helps reduce the fear and anxiety.

Thank you so much for your words, they really help. Thanks for the suggestion about taking probiotics, I will consider it.
