having some anxiety

I’m currently at my boyfriend’s house and I’m having some heightened anxiety. I randomly got heartburn. I didn’t drink a seltzer water an hour or so ago so maybe that’s why. I took tums and the heartburn went away but now I have a headache, probably from his cats who I am allergic too. Part of me is anxious bc this morning I got a sausge egg and cheese pastry at a Portuguese bakery and I’m worried maybe I got food poisoning from that. Again I feel fine, and I ate that about 8-9 hours ago.

Hi Daisy, it never ceases to amaze me in how our thoughts play out a whole scenario

of events all tying into each other. I would think that after 8-9 hours you don't have

food poisoning but plain ole anxiety. Now the headache may come from your allergy

to cats. We can't blame anxiety for everything lol Feel better soon dear :) xx

Thank you! I was able to eat some dinner but the heartburn is coming back a bit. I hope

I’m ok

try not to lay down after eating. especially after soda water, it will cause heartburn.

If you had food poisoning you would be half a second from calling an ambulance it’s that bad.

So it probably isn’t food poisoning?

no, I really doubt it Daisy. I had food poisoning this time last year and it was a painful disaster. I actually called an ambulance and I NEVER call an ambulance. the paramedics were very upfront and straight with me, they checked my eyes and asked how much I was using the bathroom which was a lot. they said I wouid get to the emergency room and just waiting forever anyways and I would have to get through it on my own regardless. they just encouraged me to wait it out. I was really wiped out bad. bad. I never call an ambulance. So I drank some Gatorade and got rest. I do not think you have food poisoning.

Thank you so much. I’m so sorry you went through that. Part of me is wondering if this is the calm before the storm. But now all I have is a really bad headache but the pain is right between my eyebrows.

that’s location of a headache can be due to allergies. I don’t know what the classification of allergies is, like if that includes allergy to certain animals. if it were me, I would take some Tylenol and Gatorade. as far as a calm before the storm, if you make it through the night ok you should be good to go.

Thank you so much. It has been almost 12 hours since I ate the food from

The bakery, so I’m assuming I’m ok ?

Morning daisy. Anxiety can heighten our normal thoughts into catastrophes. Like Agora mentioned, I think it wouldn't be food poisoning as that would generally occur sooner but good to drink water, which may also help headache too. I'm allergic to cats too and that can really mess with my mood when I have an extreme attack.Taking yourself out of a situation (going for a walk or listening to calm music) can change the inner narrative, and help calm and soothe away the anxiety. hey I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I have those same types of thoughts. But re read your post. Try to read it from another perspective. What do you see and hear in the post? I hear you are ok you are safe, you are healthy, and you are happy. You’re just worrying. Take some time to be mindful. You know deep down you’re ok that Portuguese food was delicious and your body appreciates it. Those kitties may be making you have a headache but they are so cute and fun to see and watch. There is always a good side to every single thing. You just have to remind yourself. I hope today is wonderful for you
