I'm sorry you are going through a difficult time. I can't say I relate. However my sister could relate to your story. She left home when I was a toddler for love. And moved to another state and there she has been for 2 decades going on 3 when her husband decided he did not want to be with her anymore. She found herself out of a house that she helped cultivate into a lovely home. To putting some of things he let her leave with in storage which she ended up losing because she couldn't keep up with the payments. She bounced around from different friends places until her mental health got the better of her. And found herself homeless. She feared so many things because she to was in her mid 50s. And started to develop medical issues.
Had depression because like you she felt despite living as long as she has, she had nothing to show for it.
But after much pushing from our mom. She got into counseling and got on medication. Then talked to a caseworker at the shelter who helped her get her an apartment. Yes, she had to rebuild a life in a new city. But it's a fresh start, a new beginning and maybe as her therapist said is what she needed. Starting over can be difficult. And that's not true that you don't have anything to show for yourself. Material things can be lost at anytime. However you time and experiences is worth more than you know.
I know it's scary to find yourself without someone but you can never truly know what you can do until you go at it alone. You might find that you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.
My sister is doing well for herself and she has recently gotten to a place financially where she can afford a car.
