Anxiety- Out of Sorts

Born with GAD took benzos and Nortriptyline managed well. Off benzos 14 years. In an Anxiety Funk gonna try Zoloft. Does Zoloft work for Anxiety

Hi Sclera, there are many medications out there that can help with anxiety.

Unfortunately, nothing will give the quick relief like taking benzos. I know because

I was on a small dose once a day for 30 years. To this day, I still remember the

"ahhh" feeling of calmness that a benzo gave within minutes. (making it addictive)

Going on an antidepressant can have the properties that can change your brain

chemistry in lowering anxious feelings as well as making you feel emotionally better.

Always follow your doctor's advice as he knows your health history and can guide

Zoloft definitely helps me, it helps lower your overall level of anxiousness, its not meant to stop a panic attack

Zoloft is one of the few meds that I have never tried, but I've heard that it helps for anxiety.

Hopefully it works out OK for you.
