I don’t know I just need to reach out

I’m trying to calm my thoughts my painful thoughts my anxious painful thoughts and I’m feeling like I’m just not up to the task it’s exhausting! I don’t want to tell a story I just want to be ok, I want every living kind hearted human on this planet to be ok- I don’t want anymore suffering!!!!!!!I’m in pain I don’t knw why life has to be this way? I don’t knw why people can’t live more and have more compassion and empathy for others??

Hi! I can’t give you an answer to that. I often too struggle to understand some people’s actions towards others… however.. for me personally I find it counterproductive to focus on those. I try to stay away from the news most days as I’m sensitive to what is being reported about violence etc. and just the selective negativity of reports is not for me.

If you google positive news/happy news you can put that on your homescreen maybe to check in the morning. What also helps me is a moment of gratitude for the good things and people in my life and gratitude for the positive things happening that day - in advance. I don’t know if you are familiar with the concept of self fulfilling prophecies - we set ourselves up to experience what we expect / selectively perceive and interpret our surroundings based on what we expect to see in the world. Often in every day situations there is a whole lot of room for interpretations and assumptions - which can tilt everything in an either positive or negative direction.

What helps me too is focus more on myself and what I would like to send out into the world - what thoughts, ideas, behaviors.. focus on what I can change in myself and how I can positively impact my environment. And just in general be very selective with all kinds of media, I don’t watch TV and most movies at all anymore. I feel emotionally a lot better with that. I feel a lot of what is displayed and fed to us through “entertainment” is not always so helpful for feeling good and developing peace of mind and real life connection and compassion.

You can’t control what other people do and say but you can take responsibility for your own mental health, emotional world and working on yourself to be a positive influence and light in the world. Share love and compassion with others. Often if you make the first move and open up it invites others to be vulnerable too and they relax into that connection. I believe if more people experience that and take to it that can create a positive impact.

Yes I agree with your thoughts I don’t watch news and really try to search out more positive things always!!! But unfortunately currently having to live with very abusive family and I hav not been able to fully heal from previous attacks and physically not coping so well I knw it’s all connected -I knw I need to distance myself from them as much as possible and trying but it’s very challenging and other deeper issues involved!

I see.. so it’s more about a specific situation/your family :( I’m sorry to hear that.

In that case I can understand you would like to distance yourself if you are not feeling safe there. Do you have a possibility to move out? Stay with friends or find a job where you get free room and board?

Positive news are not going to make them act nicer, I get that. :( I can imagine it’s a challenge and can feel overwhelming to try to heal when the place you are living at doesn’t feel safe.

In some families change is possible when others are open to a process down the road - but first of all stands your own safety and well being.

Got it, and get how difficult it can be. Suggestion for immediate relief from anxiety for me anyway: search YouTube for "anxiety relief/guided meditation". And then let it play. Even when I'm too anxious to follow, it still has a positive effect on me.

yeah that’s a great idea. what always calms me down is listening to eckhart tolle. i’ve had the power of now audiobook all night at times when I felt too anxious to sleep. something about it was so soothing to me, still is. it also helped me focus on the present moment which really helped with any stress/anxiety/emotional pain for me.

Do you have something that helps when you start to get too super anxious? If not, this is a constructive time to figure something out by experimentation. Then, anything that helps, even just a little, should be written down and add to your new list of "wellness tools" that you have just created, even in your worst moments. 🫠

thank you yes I think I tried something like that in past but unfortunately I lost it😔😂I hav sone things that help a tiny bit but it doesn’t feel enough u knw

unfortunately it is not the world most people live in......unfortunately the world has become very what's in it for me....I am not that way but I know a lot of people who are...they think it's fun to inflict some kind of pain in some kind of way....that they become a better person when they belittle, degrade, or talk down to someone....I am always here....dont give up hope
