I'm 44 years old and I struggle with social anxiety, severe general anxiety and severe reoccurring depression. It's hard to find friends who have what you have and get what you have. That's why I'm here

Hi I'm amanda
Welcome Amanda. You have come to the right place. You are not alone. It helps so much to be able to connect with people who actually understand.
Defintely not to mention Saturday I had a mental breakdown and now I'm going through serious depression
Have you found things that help you cope with the anxiety and depression?
I've tried many things but it comes down to my fear of abandonment and trust with people
Do you have any people or a person in your life that you can trust?
Just my husband. I really would like abest friend that I didn't get paranoid
I am glad that you do have your husband. This site is a great place to make friends. Not the same as in real life, but definitely nice.
Distance is just a number it's the bond that is important
I am glad to hear that you think that way. I have been here a little over a month. I have connected with someone and we are in touch daily. I consider her my friend. It is nice not to feel so alone.
Thank you
Hi Amanda and Welcome to a safe healing place where
you won't feel alone. I'm glad you are here with us xx
thank you
Welcome to this site and community.
For what it's worth, I suffer from severe anxiety (GAD) myself, with the depression swings as well.
.
Either way, I think this is a good and supportive community, and hopefully you will too.
Welcome!
Welcome! Sending healthy energy your way!😊😊
Welcome Amanda..i hope you find what you are looking for.
Welcome to this community. You will find many supportive and caring people here with whom you can communicate but without the anxiety, of actually being somewhere in person.
You mentioned that you’ve tried many things, but that you’re problems basically boils down to fear of abandonment and inability to trust other people.
I don’t know what things you have tried, but there are lots of techniques to deal with anxiety and depression issues. You are probably familiar with many of them, but typically the most useful are psychotherapy, short term medication, and other basic techniques, such as relaxation training, meditation, and mindfulness. These can go a long way in helping you to feel better, and to feel more in control of your life. I frequently recommend the book Feeling Great by David Burns as an excellent way to learn about cognitive behavioral therapy and learn how to use it to apply to your self so that you do not always depend on other people to help you.
