Anxiety
How do you handle the anxiety
I have not been prescribed any medication for the anxiety
As a long term sufferer of anxiety I can empathise…
Any anxiety in anybody will deplete cortisol … usually most people have short bouts of stress and do not end up cortisol depleted… and feeling burnt out…these little glands sit on top of the adrenals and are the first things to go in long term anxiety/stress hence why it is so hard to restore energy.
Also being in a continuous state of tension makes you use up your reserves of magnesium..
Just addressing those two issues can make a huge difference to your threshold on stress.
Relaxation works because it allows muscles to use less magnesium…and lowers cortisol production… things like gentle walking do the same thing …rebuilding cortisol can take a while but it’s necessary if you want to counteract stress… magnesium is very scare in our foods these days…so supplement it really does make the difference.
Taking pills alone only addresses your symptoms not the lack of cortisol/magnesium.
You might find medication like an antidepressant helpful if you are not taking anything currently. Also what helped for me was just letting myself feel tired and exhausted and know that it is part of the cycle and be kind and compassionate with yourself while you are healing. I realized that I was getting angry at myself for still having the anxiety/etc... and that wasn't productive at all and was just feeding the anxiety.
