Chi1504 anything is possible if we want it enough. If you are so afraid of medication

then what do you have to lose in trying something else more holistic in nature.

There's many things out there that can't hurt. Whether they can help is strictly a

trial and error thing.

I used Biofeedback where I learned to control my emotions, Hypnosis by a professional

hypnotherapist, still use it everynight, Mindfulness Meditation, where I find solace in

the present moment, Reiki, was a wonderful intense relaxing experience, Water Therapy

which helped release stress and adrenaline, very relaxing and yet invigorating.

Acupuncture which can be used for many areas of pain as well as stress management.

I had this done at the hospital by an Anesthesiologist who used acupuncture instead

of medications to get people through surgery. There is so much more out there that

is noninvasive. My psychiatrist has a 20 min office technique that he uses for anxious

as well as depressed patients. (I've never tried that) It's about placing electrodes on

the earlobes, lying back and allowing the treatment to change the brain chemistry a

little at a time each week.

I will say Chi1504, that addressing the ongoing issue is very important or nothing will

work including medication. We cannot sweep our triggers under the rug. Until we

bring our fears out in the open, we only continue to go in circles. My best to you :) xx

I always like your posts --they do help me & lots of others on here. You write so clearly, and I need to try some of your non-med. suggestios. My meds. help me some; but, I don't like the side-effects at all. While I can't go off, or change meds. now (am moving to a different state in the USA, I will, also look into the non-med suggestions. Thx.

It can be greatly reduced for sure. I wouldn't say by will power. You don't want to fight or try and control it per se that can make it more difficult. Relaxed acceptance is how many people approach it

I wasn't able to stop my anxiety with will power. This is because my anxiety is fueled by negative thoughts and feelings. I have to take psychiatric medication to reduce the negative activity of my mind. If you can manage Anxiety without medication that's great. I can't do it.

I took am similar....tried a lot of things but meds are the only ones that worked.

I am using full spectrum CBD and that's working but I also think my anxiety has burnt itself out quite a lot, like exposure therapy.Destraction helps me a lot.. walking surfing , gardening ect

I think it depends on the level of your anxiety. There are lots of ways to treat it, just look for what works for you.

Yes I went cold turkey on mirtazipine earlier this year, all it did was put me weight on and spike my cholesterol although it really helped my sleep on the lower dose.Haven't been back to the docs but now mine is more very low mood rather than anxiety but I feel the CBD is starting to help

ahh no i am really sorry to hear that ,sometimes anxiety is like a raging bull and your mind is too busy to use techniques like mindfulness , last night i destroyed a bottle of red and i know my mood will plummet today so i am planning a long walk on the coast with loads of tea a kindle and my earphones to listen to some podcasts, distraction is my main tool tbh but i know i sound like a stuck record but quality cbd is very calming

hope you have a better day

in reply toChi1504

I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling. I have at times (for panic attacks) used mindfulness, EMDR, breathing exercises, and meditation. Maybe try something else to replace any meds? I hope things get better for you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Oh and, something new I've used that's been impactful is tapping via The Tapping Solution. Thought I'd share. Sending love and light ✨️ 💛

Hi. I am managing my anxiety without medication. Medication had awful side effects for me. I have medication as a back up, but I rarely take it. I am not doing without therapy, as my therapist has helped me come up with many different ways to battle my anxiety. I love Agora 1's response, and I will try some of the techniques. I use meditation, mindfulness, exercise, work, playing piano, reading, spending time with friends and family, and listening to music to as a distraction. I hope you can find relief for your anxiety.
