Welcome Anxyd! I love your screen name Very clever. Have you been experiencing anxiety for a while? And if you are comfortable sharing, what are some of the anxieties you are dealing with right now?
Glad to have you here!
Hi! Yes, I have been suffering from anxiety bouts on and off for more than 10 years. They usually come with no apparent reason. I usually deal okay with normal daily anxieties like jobs, relationships etc but my main problem is that I fear from anxiety itself.
I know that cycle well! Worrying about worrying. I’m always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I’ve been weirdly happy this week and to be honest, it’s made me anxious. I worry about when my good mood will disappear as it often does.
I try not to lean on medication for anxiety because they are benzodiazepines but I recently gave in and called my dr. They gave me a small dose that I can take as needed. I’ve found it to be incredibly helpful. Not sure if that is something you’ve tried but it may be worth it if you are struggling. Sending hugs, understand, and support your way!
And then you cannot enjoy your good mood! Happens to me a lot. I take a SSRI type medicine regularly along with therapy. It works for me for a long period of time but once in a while it flares up for some "stupid" reason. If I am really agitated, I take a small dose of benzo. But that also makes one very sluggish. I try to avoid it usually.
Thank you for your kind words.
