Self Help

What are everyone's favorite self help resources? I find that I don't make it through books all of the way often, but there are some that I really like.

I like "You are a Badass" by Jen Sincero

The subtle are of not giving a f*** by Mark Manson

The Get out of your mind and into your Life Workbook by Steven C Hayes

Anything by David Burns, "Feeling Good" "Feeling Great" I think if I diligently read one of these I may be able to use it instead of therapy.

I wish strength, peace, and hope to you all

I can't tell you how many books I had lined up in my bookcase at one time.

Would lose my train of thought as well as my interest in a short time.

And then I found "YouTube". That's been my go to ever since. There isn't

anything you can't find there in SelfHelp issues. I like learning from different

sponsors and can get that variety on youtube. I put on my headphones and

sit back and just listen. If something goes over my head, I rewind it and play

it again. Good Luck finding what works for you :) xx

You can probably get as much help through You Tube as you would from a therapist. And a whole lot cheaper!!!

YES ma'am...I have piles of unread books 📚📚🤣BUT, like you...

YouTube saved my life!!🧬 Dennis Simsek the anxiety guy, Gabor Mate, Andrew Huberman... anything you can conceivably think 🤔 of for self help is at your fingertips. I listen off and on all day to podcasts with 🎧 earbuds. I go between YouTube and Insight Timer meditation app🤦⏳ constantly.

I like tapping meditations. For books, I like anything by Glennon Doyle ("Untamed" seriously changed my life) or Brene Brown.

One of my favorite books is "There Is Nothing Wrong with You: Going Beyond Self-Hate" by Cheri Huber. I picked it up at a used book store. I'm also a big fan of youtube, i'm just amazed at how much good information there is available on it especially for mental health issues. I'm a big diy guy and there is also a ton of good info on there for learning new things.
