Hi, I’m getting ready for a short road trip out of town tomorrow. My mom started talking about how old my car is and how it would be safer to rent a car for the drive and how my car might break down. It was well intentioned but pretty poor timing considering I’m starting tomorrow. She and my dad are control freaks and think their advice (typically not very practical advice) should always be heard and welcomed. It just triggered me to feel 1. Depressed and helpless where autos are involved and 2. Anxious about the trip.
Im going anyway and it will be fine. It should be a fun trip. My car took me from Texas to Kansas and back last year. It will be just fine.

I guess maybe you are on the road Renizzle? I hope it is going well. I have an old auto as well (1997) and it is still going. I was in an accident and haven't repaired it 100% (cosmetically) because I keep expecting it to die. It just keeps going. Keep that oil up and fresh.
It is a heap of financial anxiety, but it is not the most important thing in life. It will have to be replaced one day.
In short, you will be fine. Even if the car dies you just know it is time for a new one.
Thanks for your reply. Yes the drive was great and good weather too. Haha I really need to get the oil changed! I’ve been procrastinating! Thanks for the reminder!
