With my latest bout, my anxiety is tapering off but is not gone and still remaining in the background. The bounce back to normal is not there yet. Its like a background noise. Will I get used to the background noise or can things get better? I am on SSRI and propranolol

Please give me stories of successful treatments of anxiety and depression
Hi
With time and work the " bounce back"will happen. You need to build your tool box of coping skills.
What are you doing to help other than meds
🐬
I don't remember if I responded to another of your posts, but I have had great success with TMS(transcranial magnetic stimulation). It's a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses targeting a part of the brain to reduce/eliminate depressive symptoms. I had 3 rounds. The results of the first two each lasted about 6 months and the 3rd is still working after a year and a half. As with any treatment results vary and it doesn't work for everyone, but it was literally a lifesaver for me. Hope you find relief!
I found meds alone did not resolve my anxiety issues but I've learned how to heal my anxiety issues and suggest you read my recent post on Coping With Anxiety. It takes commitment and persistence but it works.
Hi piu_1961 In time you won't have to get use to anxiety being a background
noise. Eventually, using your tools of breathing and meditation will become enough
to cut down on the free floating anxiety/adrenaline. The old saying "out of sight/
out of mind" can work with Anxiety issues. My best to you : ) xx
Getting the medications right for you with your psychiatrist is essential. Also essential for you each of us to begin a more positive lifestyle, that may include seeing a good therapist regularly, exercising, being around positive people who don't unload their problems on us or who lament the state of their lives and the world. If your work or living situation is stressing you out, you need to change it.
You may benefit from the book "Life is in the Transitions" by Bruce Feiler which talks about such life altering changes and hos people have made these changes and certainly discussing this with your therapist.
I think anxiety is always in the background but what we do to reduce our stressors that trigger our anxiety makes a huge difference. It's hard work but totally worth it.
Good luck!
Hello all, I can say my anxiety is way less and I feel calm most of the time. Meds with deep breaths, walks, has helped me. I still have to get back my motivation to do all my chores - working on that. Any tips in that area - would welcome to hear your experiences.
