200mg Sertraline holding me back!?

Looking for any advice/suggestions. I've been on sertraline since 2014 and it worked so well for me. However, over the last few years I've struggled and my sertraline was raised to 200mg, which I've been on since late 2018.I may be wrong but on this dose I don't particularly feel anything or don't have much desire about anything. I'd love to be working again but don't really see the point. I do have bouts of anxiety but I'm not feeling depressed or anything.

Has anyone else had this? I'm so confused because I've never felt this way.

Have you checked with your doctor?

It can squash your emotions. Eg no highs or lows.

I'm only on 50mg now. Does nothing. May stop it altogether. Jon

When I was first prescribed sertraline, 2014, it had such a positive impact on my life for a very long time.

Over the years it's been increased to the max dosage and probably rightly so, but I kinda don't feel myself or anything really.

I don't see the point in most things but I don't feel depressed .

You need to talk to your both psyc doctors. I just came off Sertraline, not as high but was at 150. I was misdiagnosed with depression when in reality the main issue is anxiety. The sertraline did give my physical feelings from GAD and anxiety attacks more feeling. Now being off of it, as it can be prescribed for anxiety disorders, I can honestly say it did help with the GAD, but the anxiety attacks are MUCH more manageable, even though I still feel like being on something could help.

The reason why I am saying do it with your doctor, is because it makes things easier on you when all your doctors are on the same page.

Thanks for your message.I've got a GP appointment Friday morning. Over the last couple of years I've not had much luck with my doctors. They even prescribed me HRT when I shouldn't have been on it...

I could be wrong about the sertraline but not really caring or having any drive is distressing.

I'll keep you posted with what my GP recommends. I've never been under a psychologist.

OMG, you need to get yourself a psychologist. I switched my belief about medication after working on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for a year. It really shows you that everything is just a tool to use to help you get by day to day. Its more about knowing you and what makes you tick. Then working on the tick so you can live a normally life. One of mine is my anxiety getting so bad that it literally corrupts my line of thinking. I am able to catch it now and take something that will help it go away. I would have never figured that out if it wasn't for my psychologist.

One thing about psychologist, its like finding a significant other, its hard and it takes time. I went through a few therapists until I got with who I have been with for a few years. Its been a big change!
