Anyone heard of this? If so, what are the symptoms and how can you tell if you have it :

I feel I may have it.

Thanks

I don't know what the symptoms are, as I am not a doctor. My understanding, though, is that it can be very serious. If you think you have it you should go to an emergency room ASAP.

Severe serotonin syndrome can be life threatening. The 'less severe' symptoms include rapid heartrate, agitation, insomnia, confusion, high blood pressure, muscle rigidity,, loss of muscle coordination, heavy sweating, headache, diarrhea, dilated pupils. The severe symptoms include high fever, tremor, seizures, irregular heartbeat, unconsciousness. If severe or worsening symptoms go the ER. I know someone just posted a link, but I just looked it up as well. Hope you're ok!!

Do u have health anxiety? I do & thought i had it, too, being on several different medications at the time, & i did not have it. I was looking up everything with my symptoms (& i had something that i was calling muscle rigidity, but i honestly can't recall exactly what made me think that now, because it was a long time ago. I know i had bad shoulder blade pain that made me think i had heart problems, but i don't think that was what i'd call muscle rigidity, so i t had to be something else i had, but that was the 1 symptom that only serotonin syndrome had that nothing else i looked up did, among the other less severe symptoms). We can mimic many of the symptoms psychosomatically, so it's really something doctors would need to test for. I was on Wellbutrin, Adderall, & Klonopin at the time. My case was all health anxiety, because once i calmed down, all of my symptoms went away several days later, while still on the same medication. I'm not on Adderall or Klonopin anymore & i had a rough 2 years getting off of those, but I'm much better now & finally getting back to "normal". I have learned i can't look anything up online, else i will emd up thinking I have all kinds of issues that i absolutely don't.

What makes u think u could have this? Why serotonin syndrome out of all of the other things with similar symptoms? I think the only way u can know for sure is to go to the ER or ur doctor for tests. I hope u start feeling better & this will pass. Take care. I will pray for u.

Just Google it; it is too complicated to go into in a reply. It can be fatal; main symptom is VERY high blood pressure. If you think you may have it take your pressure right away and if it very high go to ER immediately.

I know you can even get it from taking too many natural "anti-depressant" supplements too. Can be very serious. I'm taking 3 natural supplements for anxiety and depression, but am careful to not take too many at once. I follow the recommendations on the bottle and do a lot of research on the safety of them.
