So I went through 3 ssri changes including the one I've been on for 5 weeks(prozac) during this time I've been taking a low dose of Klonopin most days. .125 to .25mg 1 to 2 times a day. But it is no longer working even when I take more. Shouldn't it work if I take more? I've been planning to not take it once I was over this hump, but now I'm worried it won't work even if I take a few days off. Will it work after a few days off?

Help! My safety net aka Klonopin is no longer working.
I have been taking a break here and there. I didn't take it yesterday but when I took it today, it did nothing. Last week I even took a full .50 mg and I felt nothing. I'm surprised because I hear so many people take it every day and don't need to increase it. I take such a small dose and only for 3 or so months so I'm just surprised.
There are days where it's pretty bad. Especially adjusting to prozac. Lots of annoying intrusive thoughts, and difficulty shutting my brain off when I wake up in the night. I'm just super paranoid that Klonopin is no longer going to work for me. Which of course freaks me out since it's something I've been able to turn to when I need it.
And do you notice that dose still works? You never built a tolerance?
I know I have GAD. And pretty bad. I believe I've taken a test like that.
As always we need to recommend you discuss with your MD.
My question is about the Prozac. This is a new med for you, 5 weeks? Have you noticed the symptoms have escalated with the Prozac adjustment?

I always have increased anxiety when I start a new med. And I've heard that prozac takes a long time to kick in.
That is a low dose. I take 2mg per day. The issue for me is Klonopin is addictive. If I don't get my Klonopin I will go into withdrawals. But I've not had a problem getting my prescription every month.
Its a very low dose, I have been on Adavan which is similar for a few years. I have found after a while they do not work like they used to, but if I stop taking them for a while which is hard, but when I start taking them again they work again. They are very addictive and after a while on the same dose you need more to get the same effect which is not good, so better to suffer through a while off them if you can. Most doctors do not like prescribing higher and higher dosages. Hope things get better for you.😀
please do not screw around with your Klonopin. I once couldn’t take it because issue with refill. I was extremely ill during the withdrawal. Please have your doctor regulate your meds.
Kolonopin is a benzo which is a very addictive drug, after a week to a month it's normal for your dose to stop working gradually, because your body is getting used to the drug and now it's needing more to get the same effect you had got before...benzos are very dangerous drugs, and only supposed to be used short term
