so I tested positive yesterday on a home test, then tested negative today twice on home tests. I got a normal PCR and a rapid NAAT test (i guess this isn’t the same as an antigen test, like the home ones). My rapid test came back negative.
I’m really hoping I’m negative. My boyfriends mom said I could come over because of the negative rapid test, and I want to so badly. But in the back of my mind I’m thinking about me getting my real PCR results and opening them at his house and finding I’m positive. What are your thought?
I know I’m so annoying with this. These problems seem so small and silly and I know everyone has other stuff they’re worrying about. I keep annoying my friends with this though and idk who else to reach out to.

Friend, you are a very special person for God, you have the same opportunities as everyone, you must add a dose of enthusiasm and perseverance to life, keep going. A hug.
personally I'd definitely wait until you get the PCR results, I'd hate to think I'd passed onto anyone who's vulnerable , but I'm the same if I have any type of cold, virus etc , always try to stay clear of others when unwell as I personally being immune suppressed I know how frustrating it is that people turn up to see me coughing and sneezing etc not thinking that the minor cough and cold they have is usually so much worse on anyone with no / or compromised immune system.
I'm confused. You said you had a "normal" PCR test. Does that mean it was negative? Usually rapid tests will show negative results long before PCR tests show negative, so it would be odd if you tested negative on a PCR test before you tested negative on a rapid test. You can still test positive on a PCR test for a couple of months after the onset of your infection. If you tested positive on a rapid test at the onset of your infection and then test negative on a rapid test 5-10 days after the onset of your infection (and are symptom free except a cough) you are out of the contagious stage of the disease. Hopefully this makes sense. Trust me, I have studied this extensively. If you are still concerned you can always wear a KN 95 mask when you visit.
sorry for the confusion! It looked like I tested positive on a home test. I went and got a rapid PCR test and it was negative. Throughout the weekend I took more home tests and they were also negative. I’m still waiting for another PCR test that is not a rapid test (idk if those are more reliable than the rapid ones).
If you tested negative on a PCR test, you are probably good to go. Rapid tests are not as accurate as PCR tests, and you can have a false postive result (results are positive when you don't have Covid) on a rapid test. PCR tests don't often have a false positive result. They are VERY sensitive to the presence of Covid.
Antigen test=rapid (at home) test. PCR tests must be processed in a laboratory and the results usually take 24-72 hours. There is also another kind of "rapid" test. It is a rapid NAAT test and the results are more accurate than the rapid, at home, antigen tests.
all my home antigen tests were negative except for that one. I took an NAAT Test and that was negative. I got a PCR but the results are taking forever. Took another home test this morning and it was negative
