One of my favourite books, have recently bought the CD dramatisation but in my opinion not as good as the original book. I was given the book when I was about six and it made a big impression on me (Charles Kingsley succeeded in sending a strong moral message) , unfortunately I don’t have it any more as I lent it to a friends daughter and didn’t get it back.

Really would like to read it again - even though I have virtually forgotten it all! Hope it is available in audio form although it will probably send me to sleep lol so reckon it has to be the book which like you made quite an impression on me all those years ago…
