Been a while since I last posted so here's my rant.....
Had to catch a bus for a doctors appointment today. Was at the bus stop for, maybe, 10 minutes and threw a few smiles at people waiting with me. Got nothing in return other than strange looks. Got on the bus and threw a smile and a "hello" at the bus driver. Got nothing in return. He didn't even look at me, barely looked at my bus pass.
At doctors office threw a few smiles at other waiting patients. Again with the "fuck you" looks. Got more on the way home.
I didn't realize people have changed so much in so little time. I've been smiling at people all my life with great success. During good times, I'll give you a smile. During bad times I'll give you two. I missed the memo notifying humanity that smiles are now costly. Well, mine are still free
I do the same thing i smile at people a lot and i don't get a smile back and think what have i done but i know that anxiety is talking .. i am so sorry that people don't smile back at you too
maybe you had something on your face and they were too cowardly to tell you so they just looked the other way.
I have good days and bad days with smiles acknowledgment but not today so i don't think it is a global problem. worst is if you are at a gathering with strangers and make a comment like to strike up a conversation and they "don't hear you" or just don't react or say hmmm. Who knows. it is on them not me. I went to one for a fund raiser and talked to one person for 5 min. wasn't for lack of trying. gave up and left without fund giving.
Blueruth I think you hit the nail on the the head...... I definitely had something on my face,,,,,,my face!!! That's probably what scared them off,,,,,, Bwahahah.... You're right, it's on them
Good for you. I agree, people have changed greatly. Keep smiling; I do. I also wear Sweatshirts with silly comments, Like 'I don't have grey hair; I have Wisdom Highlights!' and 'Sometimes my mind wanders, and sometimes it walks off entirely.'
