General Panic Attack Question

Hi all,

I am still new here but all I can say is communicating with you is helping me out. So with that, thanks all!

So, this post I am trying to get a feel of how people suffer with their panic attacks. I have read that panic attacks have the same symptoms, but mine don't match the description. My attacks are like choosing your favorite Pokémon, for those not young enough, needing to pick a show to watch but you have 3 choices. I either freeze and curl up into a ball, want to get away and self isolate because something is making me uncomfortable, or I have aggression. I now know it is definitely anxiety attacks, but I still in the determination phase of what is actually going on with myself. Is this a unique situation to my case or does everyone who suffer from attacks see the same thing?

I just asked this question! I do suffer from anxiety attacks & while breathing in for 5 seconds then exhaling for another 5 seconds helps sometimes. I think I need another suggestion, I’ve been drinking tea, and taking ashwagandha and also edibles. Edibles numb me, it makes me still think a little so I mostly take those before I go somewhere I know I’m gonna have anxiety.

So breathing exercises don't help with me. I do breath exercises during the course of the day to also help outside of attacks or high anxious situations. They are so intense that I need either a long time to cope or I need a mind alter (my d8 edibles). Because of how the body works, I have 1-2 hours before it kicks in.

I create post to see how others attack work. I am hoping that what I see is the same for all or is unique to just me.

Hello,

I've suffered from panic attacks since 2020. Mine have a wide range of reactions. What you describe sounds more like fight or flight of a panic attack. I do that often as well, but sometimes when the fight or flight gets bad, I also dissociate. You would definitely know if that's going on though. Otherwise, that's actually normal for panic attacks. Everybody is different and reacts in different ways.

In general, I usually have shortness of breath. I feel like I'm crawling out of my own skin, jumpy, twitchy, shake uncontrollably at times and my pulse can get as high as the 160s. I also have moments where my fight or flight kicks in and and I either pick a fight with somebody or I hide/run away. In a fight or flight mode, I sometimes dissociate, too, where I lose control of my body (in a sense) and my body decides it's going to argue with somebody or apologize profusely for me.

Like I said, everyone's different, so we all have different reactions to how we have anxiety/panic attacks/react to stressful situations. If you have any other questions, or if I didn't answer this well, I apologize and you can message me back with any other questions and I'll try to elaborate better. Have a great weekend.
