So I'm thinking about looking into inpatient places for eating disorders.. it's scary because I'm a homebody and I rarely leave home as is. So the thought of being away from home for a while it's kind of scary to me.. but I think I'd really benefit from it possibly. I just want help and to become better. I'm miserable not being able to eat like I used to. Maybe it'll help me overcome my fear and everything. Has anyone on this site been to an eating disorder place ? If so can you tell me how they work. Thanks

Hi ashley x
Let me tell you that you have the right attitude in wanting to get help. That is all important.
An inpatient unit can provide you with structure as well as help 24/7. It can be a safe place
for you to learn more about your issues. Physical and Mental health will be stressed as to
how you can teach your body to live a happy, productive and healthy life.
All this is possible if you give your all while you are there.
I'm proud of you for making a decision that can change your future. Good Luck xx
Thank you. I'm just nervous and scared to make the steps...
I know you are dear. The unknown is always frightening. Right now you have nothing
to lose but everything to gain by taking that step forward into the unknown.
I only wish my own daughter would come to that decision to get the help she so
desperately needs with an eating disorder. The years go by whether you stay stuck
or get help. I wish you well. When you are ready you will know. xx
I don't have any inpatient experience but want to applaud you for having the courage to get the help you need in order to heal yourself. I hope you will be persistent in pursuing it and that it is beneficial for you. It's perfectly normal to have some fear and even some anxiety about it but that's ok, lean into it and keep going- good for you!
