Does anybody relate to going down a rabbit hole on YouTube searching for videos that will prompt you to cry? It doesn't work for me like it used to.
Now I found that videos which bring me chills sometimes help bring on the waterworks, either full blast or sporadic drips from a busted faucet. If I'm lucky.

Those are good....especially military reunions. The difference for me is that those tears stem from a happy place. For some reason I am drawn to the sad place to tap into the tears I am searching for.
Sorry you feel sad. Double edge sword it sounds like. To have those intense reunions you probably worry all the time and have that loved one absent from your life for extended periods of time.
I watch things to "make myself cry" all the time. I don't particularly like crying or letting myself cry so sometimes a tear jerker of any sort gets you to the place of cathartic release. I really like the Messenger which is military related to bring out a good cry.
I haven't cried in years, besides from laughing... Which happens from the funny YouTube rabbit holes .
I've never done this, so I won't say it's bad, but I don't think it's necessarily healthy. When I'm sad, I try to engage in activities that will lift my spirits: go for a walk, cuddle with my pup, or watch a comedy.
If you like YouTube, you should try DoDo. People rescuing fluffy kittens and pups will restore your faith in humanity!
Also, I feel like I say this often, but if you're not enrolled, you might benefit from therapy. Sometimes crying cause you feel like it is cathartic and sometimes it's a cry for help.
I think it doesn't matter whatever it is you need to help prompt you to cry if you feel you need to. Crying is one of the healthiest ways we have for releasing our sad emotions and helping in our healing process. So many of us learned to stuff those emotions and were even punished and shamed for them so it makes it more difficult to cry and we need prompting. Go for it.
