I just got out of mental hospital. They upped my dose of celexa to 20mg and only side effects i had was nightmares first night, hot flashes first 2 days, and now headaches off and om past 2 days. tomorrow will be a week on it. I've also gained a good bit of weight since I been there. im now 124 so im feeling good πŸ˜€. now to keep on this track. Im not sure how long i want to actually stay on the medication though. Probably a few good months before i try tampering off of it. I'm getting my life back one way or the other. How have y'all been in meantime?

how long should i stay on the medicine? Will i have bad effects and worsened anxiety when i come off it? Thats what worries me. I don't wanna be on it forever, for awhile yes. But im also afraid it'll make me spiral when i come off it again.

Welcome back. I wouldn't worry about getting off a medication. If it works for you, wonderful. We (people with mental illness) are made out to be weak because we take medication. People think whatever our illness is depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, ......is something we control. Like most illnesses we do our best, take medication so we can help keep it under control. I don't make enough serotonin = depression. I have no control over that but medication helps. Go be you, the you you remember and want to become.

Welcome home ashley...I'm glad you got the help you needed.

Stay positive, give the medication time to work while you start

living and not just existing. My best to you dear :) xx

Thanks for the update. Good for you! I'm so glad it went well.

Are they offering aftercare?

Im happy you are feeling better. Hope it stays that way. Your weight is at an ideal weight anyways. Just as long as you're feeling better is what we like to hear.πŸ™‚
