The Caretaker

I have recently realized that I have spent too much time focusing on others: my kids, my extended family and my wife. Somewhere along the way I forgot to tend to myself more. I think this originates from childhood trauma. Have you ever had to start over? I feel embarrassed by this revelation and not exactly sure where or how to start building "me" now. Any ideas or encouraging words would be lovely.

I think this is an amazing insight! Now you can take steps to take better care of yourself. I don't have any advice for you except do what nurtures or fills you up - maybe exercise, a hobby, volunteering, reading a book?
