Buspirone

Hi everyone it's been a while since I've been on here. Have been struggling quite a bit, but I'm trying to be proactive when it comes to my health. I just started taking Buspirone today and am curious if anyone has been on it and what their experience has been? I've been on 40mg of Duloxetine/Cymbalta for a while now, but don't feel like it's helping enough, so my doctor suggested adding 15mg of the Buspirone. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I take Buspar too and I feel it working about 20 minutes after I take it … I can’t describe the feeling so well but it’s a bit of relief. Have you noticed a difference so far? I hope it helps you.

That's great it's helping you. I only just started it yesterday, so not feeling anything yet. How long have you been on it?

Off and on since like 14 years. It’s safe enough to take when pregnant ad a Class C med.It takes about 3 weeks to really kick in.

I’ve been taking Buspirone for a couple of years now. It has helped a lot. I made the mistake however, of taking it only after food in the beginning. Now if I take it without eating a good meal, it hits me hard and I don’t like that feeling. But many times when I’m anxious, I can’t eat, then I don’t want yo take it. Directions say to take either with or without food, but then take the same way consistently. I actually had to stop taking it recently because I had to take covid medications. Now I’m deciding if I should begin again, or try something that’s once a day.

That's interesting. I saw that the directions said that about taking with food or without etc. Thought it was a bit odd. I'm trying without food 2 x a day so we'll see how it goes. Wishing you luck with your decision!

Thanks for responding. It's good to hear it's helped you. Gives me hope, but yes, will be monitoring for sure.
