I just tested positive for Covid. I am wondering when were the worst days of Covid for you? Also how many bad days? I have 3 Pfizer shots but I got my booster back at the end of December and I don’t qualify for a second booster here… I’m pretty sure I got it on Wednesday and today I had a sore throat and felt tired so I took a test and it’s positive.
I’m wondering what days I can expect the worst? Thanks in advance.

I’m sorry to hear you’re positive. I’ve been sick with it since last Tuesday, although I did not test positive until Friday (8/5). My husband came home positive the prior Sunday (7/31). I understand 💯 that it is scary, and it hits everyone differently. While my husband began Paxlovid immediately and was never too down for the count (although isolated in our basement), I have had a way tougher time of things. However I have complications from asthma and hypertension. Also, I was advised by urgent care not to take the Paxlovid. They cited rebound effects, worsened diarrhea, and interactions with my anxiety med. The worst part for me was the weekend, since I did not take the Paxlovid, and they also advised against steroids which I knew I needed due to my asthma. My throat felt swollen shut. Finally after reaching my primary doc on Monday, relief began by Tuesday night after beginning the Paxlovid (despite it technically being ill advised to take so long after first symptoms), dexamethasone, and nebulizer treatments. I am steadily improving and no longer have that horrible rolling around in bed ill feeling. However, my breathing is still tight, and my legs feel as if they’re carrying me on a walk just going to the bathroom.
Sorry if I’m over sharing. You’ve caught me still feeling isolated, so it’s cathartic to share. I’m going mainly the entire 10 days isolated as much as I can as opposed to just the five cuz I also have a son in the house with asthma that I wish to protect.
I wish you all the best. Please remember that if you have few other medical issues and are young and basically healthy, you will likely have only mild symptoms such as the exhaustion and sore throat. This too shall pass. Get plenty of rest and fluids. The most important advice I can give though, is to get care from your primary care doc, as he/she knows you best.
Oh, and btw I also have had my pfizer vaccines and one booster.
I tested positive back in the end of May. It started as a sore throat and stuffy nose and then I was very tired and slept for 24 hours. It didn’t last long, but it was hard taking care of myself. Then my husband tested positive and he had about the same symptoms. We both were mostly very tired and got our rest and did the best we could. No prescription drugs for either of us, just otc Tylenol and cold meds. The worst was over with fast though.
I got it in June but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. I had a bit of a sore throat and a little cough, the worst thing was the tiredness, it made me feel really exhausted most of the time. The tiredness vanished after about ten days and i was back to normal.
I got it at the beginning of .pril.After 3 vaxx and 1 booster . I thought it was just a chesty cold so I didnt do a test at first as I'm used to getting them. I tested positive. I didn't have any other symptoms. It lasted about a week and I was very tired . Nothing else.Hope you recover quickly x
I'm probably not too far off in your age range (give or take 20 years ), and I've been wondering on and off if I should find a way to get my 2nd booster yet or not.
I called my Dr. Office and have a phone appt. On Monday morning, hopefully they will prescribe something. I wonder if I would have worse symptoms by then. So far today it’s still a sore throat and I’m not hungry.
I talked to someone today and was told that I don’t qualify for paxlovid (I read it was hard to get it prescribed here). If it stays the way it is now, I’ll be fine. I don’t have a fever the worst of it is a sore throat but I’ll take that over other stuff (like breathing issues). I did start taking my singulair yesterday too, just to help with inflammation. I’m hoping for the best as my anxiety is through the roof.
Thanks, I sure hope it doesn’t go to my chest. Before Covid, EVERY time I got a regular cold it turned into bronchitis. It’s due to my asthma. I’m taking lots of vitamins etc. I’m hoping it stays above my shoulders.
Started the same for me. Throat felt like it was closing up, exhaustion, and although I never actually had a fever, had sweats, awful diarrhea, hypertension, and then the spread to my chest. Eleventh day now, and just feeling exhausted. Finished Paxlovid, still doing dexamethasone and nebulizer tmts. Starting to have a pity party as today’s my bday.
Hope you have a good day today. Had a pity party during the night last week when I couldn’t sleep!! Feeling very sorry for myself! Came in this morning after attempting to walk the dog, sat down and woke up an hour later. Just had lunch, could have been cardboard- can’t taste a thing! Onwards and upwards!! We’ll get there - hopefully sooner rather than later. Take care and wishing you well x
Thank you so much. It’s wonderful to have someone in the same boat to chat with. My husband had it first but is already better, and is the type that can’t sit still so I don’t have too much support. And I’m mostly isolated cuz I have an adult son with asthma I’m trying to keep it from. It’s too difficult to feed the dog, and I’m the usual main caretaker. He’s been sleeping in the basement with my husband to keep him from getting ill as well. He has had diarrhea for a week but is recuperating.
