One of those days...

First, I want to say thank you. I don’t post much, but I do follow along and your posts always make me feel like I’m not crazy or alone. So, it’s one of those days but it feels like weeks. I think I have control of the panic symptoms, but my health anxiety persists. I continue to have chest tightness, fatigue, and a sensitive, knotted stomach. I’ve been meditating daily, following a self care routine, juicing, and trying to get to sleep early. I was prescribed Xanax for the nights I have trouble falling asleep too, which I usually take 1-3 times a week. Today is just a bad day for my health anxiety. No triggers, just the usual physical sensations that are messing with my head. Any suggestions on dealing with health anxiety? I’m so tired of feeling sick and tired.

I usually treat my chest tightness with a clay ice pack. I bought mine at target. Works the same as a weighted blanket but the coldness also distracts my pain sensors to the coldness not the tightness in my chest. Soon I hope to save up for a real weighted blanket but I have to say I do love the cold ice packs. I often fall asleep with them on, ive found the cold is more relaxing than the heat surprisingly. Hope this helps a little!

Thank you💛 I’ve not thought about a cool clay pack. I’ll give it a try. The weighted blankets look amazing, but a little pricey for me right now.

That's interesting! I find feet in hot water good when my chest is tight with anxiety. I guess it's anything distracting

I went throughabout a year of escalating health anxiety to the point of panic attacks. I got myself out of it with propranalol which was prescribed for migraines but inadvertently helped my undiagnosed anxiety massively. I also found the symptoms of my health anxiety got much much better when in was doing couch to 5k. It was remarkable in fact. Losing weight helped. And i find now too much coffee, too much salt, too little sleep and MOST OF ALL BY MILES: ALCOHOL! all make it far worse.

Yes- movement & being outdoors helps. I try to avoid or limit y intake of all the above mentioned. I agree it does help. Thank you💛
