I’ve been taking Sertraline for several years now and for the first few years, it really did wonders. However in the last year the positive effects are waning and honestly making the depression/anxiety worse. I’m wondering if anyone else who has taken or is taking Sertraline (generic Zoloft) has had similar experiences? I’ve been on and tried several different antidepressants so I know that they can sometimes become less effective with age/use but I’m still disappointed that the one that worked the best so far isn’t anymore :/

Sertraline
I had a similar experience. Was on it for years with no problems at all until all of a sudden it stopped working and my anxiety and panic attacks sky rocketed.
Ended up on inpatient psychiatric care where they tried multiple combinations of medicines to see what would work. Very depressing and exhausting but eventually we found a combo that leveled me out.
I know it’s frustrating while the drs try to find the right mix of meds but hang in there!
I have been in that situation. I have actually been on a lot more and then brought down when the situation changed. It works for many members of my family too. lol I find that interesting. Anyway,It's okay to increase it. Our body chemistry changes, so it makes sense that our brain chemistry can too. My advice would be to talk to your prescriber and see if adding a little more may make a difference. Good luck. 😊
