Hi and welcome to this community! Do you have a therapist?

Hi thanks for your response. I dont have a therapist as I always struggled to let things out but I did speak to the doctor this morning and hoping to get some talking therapy soon. I am really worried about it though as I find it very hard

You're welcome. Do you find writing things down helpful? For me, I express myself better in writing than I do with words. I'm glad you got the ball rolling! Good for you!👍

I used to write years ago but I'm pretty much the point where I cant be bothered doing anything coz I know it wont fix my problems. I'm drinking too much as a coping mechanism which isnt helping neither because now my partner is leaving me over it all. I just want to flip a switch and get out of this one and have the kind of life I always intended but it feels like dominos effect now. Everything is crashing down. It's been going on for years and everytime I scrape my life together I will just end up back where I started. I clearly have ptsd and it just ruins everything but this time theres no fixing anything. I have a long journey a head of me as a single woman with a lot of responsibility and I really dont think I can do it.

I find sometimes when I write things down it makes me more anxious!

Oh, that's interesting. It's interesting to hear how we are all so different in how we deal with things.

And when I see my therapist I usually have a lot of tear but I think that’s kind of normal… I’m suffering with severe anxiety and depression… it limits me from going outside most times and the meds I’m on only keep me kind of comfortable in the house… it goes on all day!

I was the same. Waited years in denial that I needed to talk to a professional. I am so glad I got help. Living with so much anxiety and stress (and for me depression) can be crushing. Talking to someone and possibly being prescribed medication can really help. We are here is you need an anonymous place to voice your feelings. 💙

I hate that you are struggling and feeling helpless. I find it helpful to name my feelings and to use relaxed breathing (inhale to a count of 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4). I will also use a grounding exercise (5 things I can see; 4 things I can hear; 3 things can feel/touch; 2 things I can smell; and 1 thing I can taste).

Thank you. I will try that when it washes over me. The doctor is sending me tablets for the anxiety because it makes me physically sick so hopefully those combined with breathing will help

Changesomething, I've shared this with others and I'll share it with you. One of the factors in the stuttersence link causing a vitamin B1 deficiency is alcohol. The link contains a comprehensive list worth looking over. B1 is also called thiamine and it needs magnesium to activate it as does vitamin D. Alcohol also causes loss of magnesium a mineral often low in the diet and only a low percentage absorbed from supplements. The brain has a continuous need for magnesium and activated thiamine however a deficiency of either or both creates a crisis leading to many health conditions with anxiety and depression among them. The blood brain barrier inhibits thiamine and magnesium's passage so TTFD, a fat soluble form of thiamine, offers easier passage with higher levels. A form of magnesium called magnesium threonate offers higher absorption to the brain and should be included with other forms such as glycinate to achieve your daily needs. The krispin link contains useful magnesium information. Always consult with your health care provider before using any supplement.
