I am also on Prozac but I have never had that side effect. During updates, my therapist asks (amount other things) if I am moving too slowly or can’t sit still. I am unsure if it it a depression thing or Prozac thing. Maybe you can reach out to your doctor who prescribed it to you asking about this side effect.
When I started Prozac/fluoxetine I was agitated by it. I had to reduce the dosage quite low. I am very sensitive to medications, but the lower dose has helped me throughout my life.
PhyllisY - l had a bad experience with Prozac. At the time it was all the rage. Miracle Drug. My hopes were sky high. Dr started the dosage by a little book in his shirt pocket (that shoulda wised me up), increased it til it was squirting outta my eyes (exaggeration ok?) So I was sleeping, woke up, freaking out! 911 to ER. Put me in a lock up like that. Pure Hell! For me Prozac was poison. But that was me. Be careful, be safe
Hi and thank you for your post.👍 Willow's suggestion to see your prescriber is good advice. There may be another drug in the doctors tool bag.If you think the benefits outweigh the side effect and you want to keep taking it, then you may have to find something to distract yourself when the agitation arrives. An example would be going for a walk or listening to music.
