Hello everyone, im currently really far away from my next therapy appointment

Currently i do not want to dive into taking medications, because that swirl will likely affect my final exams and im not mentally ready to suffer severe mental and physical symptoms, so i want to try cbt techniques to naturally help with my intrusive problems

My main problems are violent and intrusive self harm thoughts, so i wonder how can i use cbt to approach this problem

For anyone who has similar experiences it would be great to share them with me.

Dear Kevin,

As I've always said to you, OCD is relentless.

Most of us who have suffered with such pain

turn to "relief" in various forms (Self harm is

unfortunately high on the list) Sad but true.

You've added the word violent which I don't

think you've said in the past. (we go way back)

Unless you're using the word casually, it's time

to ask for an appointment w/your therapist.

Everything else can wait.

Please understand this comes from my love and

concern. Faith & prayers help but the one "ailing"

needs a physician.

Agape 💙

I appreciate the help but i dont think you understand, there are manynforms of ocd, mine is non traditional, its concerned with obsessive violent and self harm thoughts, as i explained currently i cant go to therapy, so your comment was very triggering to me as i just want to believe that i will be fine even if i dont have a therapist on speed dial 24/7

Cbt techniques should just as good as meds, this is not me asking for reassurance or relief, i want people to give me their tried and trues so i can use them to tackle these thoughts, but no one even cares so im not sure why im even using this trash website.

Cbt = cognitive behavioral therapy? I used the dr burns Feeling Good book for that. Do you have a book or info source you can refer to?
