Hi, I have been taking Prozac for last 3 weeks. Though it has reduced the symptoms and negative thoughts etc, still I'm anxious if they came back. Now I feel that Prozac is working pretty slow. Don't know why I'm getting impatient sometimes.
Anyone would like to share their experiences with Prozac?

Three weeks is not enough time to judge the effects of a medication. Most meds take at least 6 weeks to become effective. I was on Prozac not long after it came out in the late 80's. For me it was a godsend and worked great for about 10 years until it stopped working and I was switched to Celexa, which also worked great for quite a while. Won't bother with the rest of my med history, some worked, some didn't or gave me bad side effects. I am no longer on meds and TMS has been my treatment of choice the last couple of years. Give the Prozac more time to work. Everyone is different but at the time I took it a whole new world opened up. I still had to take anxiety meds with it.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I'll definitely wait for it to enter into my system completely for the better results. My depression is mild, so dr. put me on 10 mg only. I hope I'll not have to be on antidepressants more than 6 months or an year or so.Have a good one. Take care.
I hope you don't have to be on for long. For me therapeutic dose was 20 for a while and I think 40 for a while as well. It's been a long time. Plus my depression was pretty severe, long time history. Over the decades I became treatment resistant to meds, thank goodness for TMS!! It literally saved my life at one point. About 5 years ago I was retried on Prozac to see If it would work again, but unfortunately it didn't. I did have a positive experience with it most of the 10 years I was on it and I don't even remember having any side effects back then.Keep me posted!
I'm glad that TMS is working for you. I'm also not having any major side effects of Prozac, thank God! Other than this I have included exercise, meditation and deep breathing etc. into my life.I wish everyone a wonderful life. Life will always be full of ups and downs but we have to learn living the life to the fullest, no matter whatever happens. 😊
Sounds like you're doing everything you need to manage your depression and in turn, your life. Life does have its ups and downs, unfortunately for some of us here the downs have been extreme. But life goes on and hopefully so do we. I am 66 and have been dealing with depression for decades. TMS has been a godsend for me, have been through 3 rounds. Have been doing well for a while.
I agree with you. When we feel low, the down side of the life seems to be extreme. You are doing good and will be doing great for sure. I'm 36 and I wanna live to the fullest each day but the thing is after every few years my brain lacks of serotonin I guess which makes the things worst for me. But I need to accept the reality and have to live with it (sometimes with medicine). May be I have to be more grateful to God for the breaths I'm still having 😇
